About Kathryn Fletcher - Ball State
An Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Kathryn Fletcher teaches courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. Her research, which focuses on parenting and child development, has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and as book chapters. Kathryn Fletcher has taught at Ball State University since 2001.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts from East Carolina University, Dr. Fletcher went on to earn a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following the completion of her doctoral studies there, Dr. Fletcher was named the Outstanding Graduate Student in Developmental Psychology. She subsequently accepted a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Kathryn Fletcher stayed at the University of Miami for four years as an Research Assistant Professor.
Following a year as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Oxford, Ohio’s Miami University, she came to Ball State and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006. Dr. Fletcher has presented her research at numerous symposia and regional and state meetings, and has served as an ad hoc editor for various journals, including the Early Childhood Research Quarterly, the Journal of Family Studies, the British Journal of Developmental Psychology, the Family and Consumer Science Research Journal, the Family Science Review, and Psychological Science.
Outside of her professional work, Kathryn Fletcher has served as a member of numerous professional philanthropic organizations in Indiana and elsewhere. She has also served on several councils at Ball State University, including the Academic Policies Council and the Executive Committee.
